Leora Myers receives an award for her work on tobacco cessation

Leora Myers, RN an integrative nurse specialist was among seven honored with California Alameda County Tobacco Control Coalition Awards at award ceremony June 5, 2013. The awards tradition honors individuals who have made significant contribution to tobacco cessation/ control in Alameda County. Ms. Myers, Holistic Health Program Manager at East Bay Community Recovery Project, a comprehensive substance abuse and mental health treatment program in Alameda County, was bestowed the Behavioral Healthcare Services Award.

 

During the ceremony, she also received Certificates of Recognition from the California State Assembly and the California State Senate. Myers received a Alameda County Innovation grant for developing Brief Tobacco Intervention protocol, a survey asked of clients on intake and during treatment, which is designed to stimulate a dialogue and present clients with immediate access to tobacco cessation services.
