Parolee Services Network (PSN) Returns to Hayward

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) recently announced the restoration of PSN funding for FY 2011-12.  This means that adult men and women who are on parole from CDCR can participate in community based alcohol and drug treatment services.
For more information about receiving PSN services in Hayward, please call 510-728-8600 extension 128.  This program works!

Key findings from a recent report on the efficacy of the Parolee Services Network include*:

• Program participants were 14% less likely to return to prison within one year of release to parole, when compared against the larger statewide population.

• 40% of participants successfully completed at least one of their enrolled services.  The reincarceration rate for those who completed the program was 33.8%, more than 20% lower than for the comparison population.

• Parolees who successfully completed treatment were also less likely to abscond from parole than those who did not complete treatment.

• Parolees who met program goals were consistently associated with a lower likelihood of reincarceration or
absconding.
